Innovation Fund supported the Interactive Mathematics project
Innovation Fund supported the project of innovators Vladimir Koprić and Marko Marinković from Belgrade, who are engaged with improvement of preschool education. This is a project that is focused on development of interactive application on multiple platforms, which will be fully adapted to the needs of children aged 3 to 7 years, in terms of functionality – the natural feeling when using the latest tablet devices and touch-sensitive mobile phones.
Koprić and Marinković have already created an Interactive Spelling Book, which is at European level recognized as a quantum leap in education for the 21st century. They have also initiated the development of interactive mathematics for preschool and first grade pupils of elementary schools.
Quality of Koprić’s and Marinković’s project, the most advanced in the field of interactive education, was also recognized by Innovation Fund, which decided to support its early development through the Innovation Serbia Project, financed by European Union preaccession funds – IPA and administered in cooperation with the World Bank. This is a MINI GRANTS Program.
Among 146 candidates from Serbia, an Independent expert commission for investments of the Innovation Fund has selected 14 projects, including a project of Vladimir Koprić and Marko Marinkovic. Innovation Fund announced their decision of support on November 14th 2012 at a ceremony in Belgrade.
“Support that European Union (EU) provides through these programs is very important because of the direct influence on the efforts that Ministry of Education, Science and Technology development invest to build up and promote science and technology development in Serbia.”, said Minister Zarko Obradović at the ceremony.
“We are satisfied with the progress of the Innovation Serbia Project and its contribution to entrepreneurship in Serbia.”, said Adriano Martins, Deputy Head of the EU Delegation in Serbia, and added:
“Because of the focus on growth and innovations, these programs are crucial to the future Serbia’s competitiveness and its further economic growth. ”
Ljiljana Kundaković, Interim Managing Director pointed out that it is very important that the Innovation Fund managed to encourage “Serbian scientific-research community to considering the potential for commercialization.”
“Project applications have came from high-tech industries, as well as the traditional areas. Projects that are selected by an Independent expert committee have the potential, commitment and management experience that will carry these products and services to the market.“, said Ljiljana Kundaković.
